Solar Hot Water

We can supply and install a range of evacuated tube solar water heaters.
These systems attract very generous Sustainability Victoria rebates of up to $2,500 plus RECs (renewable energy certificates) of around $1,300-1,500. Check out the Sustainability Victoria website for details of their rebates.

Heat Pumps

Siddons Solarstream heat pumps "capture" and thermally magnify the ambient temperature of the air to create hot water. They typically use only about 1/4 of the electrical energy of a conventional resistive element hot water service. Heat pumps are an excellent choice where direct solar radiation is poor and no reticulated gas service is available.

Solar Homes and Communities Plan

In the 2008 Federal Budget the replacement for the former Photovoltaic Rebate Programme (PVRP) was announced. The programme is substantially the same except for a few key differences - most notably that the rebate is now means tested so that it's only available to households with a combined income of less than $100,000pa on gross taxable income.

Below are the application forms and programme guidelines.

Remote Renewable Power Options

The Australian Government's Renewable Remote Power Generation Programme (RRPGP) provides financial support to increase the use of renewable generation in remote parts of Australia that presently rely on fossil fuel for electricity supply.

Grid-Connected Solar Power

Grid-connected solar power means that you can generate your own clean energy and feed it back to the grid. The surplus that you feed back will be credited against what you have used and thus save you money.

For example from 1.36kW photovoltaic power system in Melbourne, you could expect to generate around 4.8kWh/day and thus save upto $2.88 cents per day in power (given that the soon to be implemented Victorian feed-in tariff of 60cents/kWh is achieved for all your solar generated power).

Green Loan Providers

The following list of lenders offering green loans is by no means
exhaustive. There are a growing number of green loan products available
and like always, it pays to shop around to find the one that is right
for you. This list may be a good place to start though:
